Interaction Loops amongst “Gut/circulation immunity-CNS immunity-Neuronal function
Our research focuses on elucidating the interaction loop among the gut microbiota, peripheral (circulatory) immunity, central nervous system (CNS) immunity, and neuronal function. By understanding how signals from the gut influence immune responses and neural activity—and how these systems reciprocally regulate one another—we aim to uncover fundamental mechanisms underlying neurological health and disease. This integrative approach forms the basis for developing stem cell-based therapies, with the goal of restoring balance within this loop to treat currently incurable conditions such as autism, ALS, and spinal cord injury.
